  Hello,

I was born on Mauritius in 1965 at the Navy Hospital. My father (Alan Foster - civilian communications engineer) was working at HMS Mauritius at the time until 67/68 (I'm not exactly sure when we came back to Blighty), and managed to wangle a second tour of duty 1972-75. I have fond memories of the island, the navy pool (great picture!), Le Chaland beach and so much more.

Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.

Cheers,

Steven

  Steven,
Very pleased that you were able to find us. This site has only been up and running for a short time; its hoped that - as word gets around - all who had any connection with the Comcen at Vacoas, the transmitting station at Bigara and the receiving station at Tombeau Bay can get back in touch. Glad it brought back happy memories. Revisit us now and again there's more to come.
Regards,
Martin Randle
